High Tech, Inc. has manufactured over 200,000 units to date with excellent results in government and industrial applications. The hydrophone/preamplifier assembly consists of a piezoelectric ceramic cylinder that forms the active acoustic element of the hydrophone. The preamplifier is mounted inside the ceramic cylinder and interfaces with the active element and signal conditioning electronics via underwater connectors.
This design can withstand pressures up to 10,000 psi.
